No one wants to miss the first step or the first word of their children. However, many of us do not remember the moments after a decade or two. Benjamin Button is changing it. On Tuesday late afternoon, Slovak entrepreneurs launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter with a goal to raise 25 000 USD.

The Device
The team of Dominik Orfanus in a co-operation with a crowdfunding enthusiast and expert, Ivan Zatko, wants you to never forget your child’s first moments. Just recently, they threw out at the market a device called Benjamin Button which captures everything your little offsprings experience. Benjamin Button is a button-shaped camera you pin on a t-shirt and just record.
“Because of Benjamin Button, you can now enjoy family adventures hands-free – from your perspective or perspective of your child. Benjamin automatically picks the best moments and creates short movies that you can relive anytime. It is easy to share with anyone – so the whole family can enjoy,” goes the copy on the Kickstarter page.
The process does not end with a simple recording. When on a charger, Benjamin Button edits the video and picks up the most memorable moments. That is possible thanks to an advanced face, sound, and activity recognition software. “Videos are sent to your phone, where you can enjoy them and share.”
The device is lightweight with only 60 grams and enables the user to have both hands free while still recording. As Benjamin Button is primarily for kids, it is water and dust proof and can withstand everyday crashes. Besides, it is made of healthy plastics and “has WiFi disabled when recording. It even has protection from electromagnetic radiation.”
