The top innovation event in Slovakia, Startup Awards 2017, where almost 1,000 innovators, investors, business leaders and tech enthusiasts meet to address the tech-driven transformation of today’s world is happening this Friday, December 1.
For the seventh year in a row, the so-called “Oscars” for the most innovative companies will be awarded. This year’s event will be a big affair. For the first time, the event will be hosted in the new building of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava and will be extended by the FutureNow conference. The winner will receive a grand prize of 50k EUR.
This year’s winner will join the ranks of those like MultiplexDX, a biotech company that developed a revolutionary profiling test for cancer diagnostics. Eight startups, shortlisted during a weekend-long boot camp session, will be competing for this grand prize during a pitching competition.

Awards for an outstanding technology scale-up, as well as an award for a startup with a social mission, will be awarded for the first time this year.
Among other exciting things, the world-famous Aeromobil will be displayed in Slovakia for the very first time. At the same time, the FutureNow Conference will feature a high-level panel discussion on the changes in the automotive industry. Many other keynotes will be delivered by an excellent lineup of speakers. Vitaly Golomb, a venture capitalist, serial entrepreneur and author of Accelerated Startup will give the main keynote speech of the evening.
