Runecast today announced its successful Series Seed fundraising from leading Central European investors Credo Ventures, Prague, and Limerock Fund Manager, Bratislava.

Runecast is the provider of real-time monitoring and predictive analytics for VMware environments. The company transforms VMware’s Knowledge Base into machine-readable predictive action points. The unique solution helps customers switch their VMware maintenance from reactive to predictive. As a result, they reduce outages, increase security and visibility, and minimize risk via continuous compliance with industry best practices, along with significant cost reductions.

Runecast Analyzer has already been deployed across three continents and within large enterprise customers such as Verizon Wireless, German Aerospace Center, Brigham Young University Idaho, FujiSoft, Telit, Zoner, NCC Media, to name a few. Runecast customers span across multiple verticals and industries. This Series Seed will empower Runecast to accelerate its effort and aggressively target VMware’s 500,000+ customers who use the Knowledge Base reactively instead of predictively.

Previously, the startup had been financed with a €140k investment from pre-seed investor Opifer in 2014. The investment brought together an international team of VMware experts who, together, combine more than 40 years of experience in running VMware environments and integrations, most of it while they were designated VMware specialists at IBM.

“I am excited to bring on board some of the best investors our region can offer,” said Stanimir Markov, CEO and co-founder, Runecast. “We will use the new investment primarily to expand our enterprise-level sales force and reseller network.”

Andrej Kiska, partner at Credo Ventures, confirmed Runecast’s strong potential, “Runecast is a superb technical team with global ambitions based in Central Europe. They have spent three years developing a game-changing product for all VMware customers worldwide. That’s exactly the kind of company we at Credo like to invest in.”

Michal Jablonka, partner at Limerock Fund Manager said: “This region repeatedly shows that it is capable of nurturing mega-great software companies. We like the Runecast team and their product and we like the way they are poised to help clients not only to react but to prevent and predict. Supported by their investors, Runecast can now grow and expand on a global scale.”

Petr Heyduk, partner at Opifer said: “Runecast is a team of A players with strong technological background and disruptive technology with proven potential of global growth. Runecast is one of our most successful Pre-seed investments and we‘re planning to invest in similar early stage companies Pre-seed and Seed capital over 5 mil. in the following 3 years.“
